Veteran’s Memorial Blvd Extension Phase 1 Design-Build
Project Overview
Location: Naples, FL
Client: Collier County
Completion Date: April 2024
Overview
Construction is underway on the Veteran’s Memorial Blvd Extension Design-Build. Phase I of this Collier County Design-Build project was awarded to Quality Enterprises in 2020. Construction commenced in January 2021.
This project will extend Veteran’s Memorial Boulevard from the Livingston Road intersection to the east entrance of the newly planned Collier County public high school. The new roadway geometry will be urban (curb and gutter) divided arterial, consisting of four 11-foot travel lanes (two lanes in each direction), a 22-foot wide raised median, 5-foot wide on-street bike lanes, and six-foot wide concrete sidewalks on both sides of the roadway.
The traffic signal at the intersection of Livingston Road and Veterans Memorial Blvd will be upgraded, and two new signalized intersections will be installed, one at Veterans Memorial Elementary school and one at the future high school. The project will also include the installation of roadway lighting and stormwater management ponds (wet and dry detention).
Initially, QE will construct a two-lane roadway to the new high school site for access to construct the high school. The final Veterans Memorial Boulevard extension to the school is expected to be completed by June 2023.
